Like many red-blooded American boys, I enjoyed watching Lynda Carter (Yes, I am that old) bounce across the screen as Wonder Woman. While the TV show bounced from network to network in search of an audience, Carter's version of Wonder Woman was much better than Cathy Lee Crosby's version in the pilot movie. I believe that Wonder Woman was at her best as a 1940's period program. Sadly, as is so often the case, money moved Wonder Woman from ABC to CBS and from the 1940's to the 1970's.
Two years ago, NBC decided to take a crack at a series featuring the Amazon princess. The pilot was filmed and starred Adrianne Palick. Sadly the the pilot was so bad that one critic called it, "embarrassing." As you might imagine, the series didn't see the light of day.
Recently, Gal Gadot has been picked as the next Wonder Woman in the Superman sequel. While she may be a fine actress, I don't see her as the Wonder Woman type. Can Hollywood ever get her right?
If you want to see some vintage Wonder Woman, MeTv (http://metvnetwork.com/share/wonder-woman-coming-to-me-tv) will rerun the Lynda Carter series.
