Okay, I said that I would never play Guild Wars 2 after my "run in" with an "asshat" of a costumer service man, who seemed to take great pleasure in behaving like a total "asshat", over my Guild Wars 1 account. Maybe the dude was having a bad day and decided to take it out on me but it was certainly not professional behavior to call me a thief for my inability to answer "one" (birth date) of several security questions correctly. I'm still very angry over the treatment/abuse.
Yes, ncsoft, I own the games ...
Having said all of that, I guess it is time to bury the hatchet. I have been enjoying the free-to-play Guild Wars 2. I like the story and combat along with the challenges. I suppose that the best part about the game is the friendly people. This is without a doubt the friendliest MMO that I have ever played. I have had several people detour from their missions to help me with mine --- without asking.
I am playing as a mushroom ranger called Shroom Manchu. Fun stuff and I've enjoyed the game enough to consider buying the expansion. My only drawback has been my only contact with the company when I needed help with my Guild Wars 1 account.
If you are on the fence about whether or not to try it, I would recommend the free-to-play version. It is, of course, a limited version but there is enough available to get a good idea about the game.
