Transformers: Age of Extinction
Once again, the Autobots and Decepticons do battle. This is the fourth movie in the series with a fifth movie scheduled for 2016. Oddly enough, the movie played in the theaters this summer (making an estimated $245,428,000) and it is now selling on DVD. I am really surprised at the quick move to add this and other movies to the DVD market. Are the movie theaters becoming nothing more than advanced advertisement for the DVD sells?
At any rate, the film is about, as you might imagine, the ongoing battle between the Autobots and Decepticons. Cade Yeager buys a truck that, everyone in the theater (and now we at home) knows, is Optimus Prime. Of course, this truck makes Yeager and his family a target and they must run for their lives. Massive CGI destruction ensues...
The movie is way too loooooong --- painfully long. I had to take a break and eat a sandwich. The characters were poorly developed and I really didn't care about them. The star of the movie was the special effects, however, in this case less would have been more.
I'm giving this movie 3 stars out of 5.
Buy it --- try it --- skip it.
This is a try it. Put this one on your Netflix queue or wait for it on TV.
