My thoughts:
Oh hell yes, I enjoyed every minute of this book. It gave me an inside look at some of the comics that I have followed over the years. In many ways it was a very nostalgic read. Of course, the art is fantastic. I've always enjoyed 2000 AD's pen work.
I got a chuckle out of one of the quotes "2000 AD always sold 100,000 a week— no more, no less.Traditionally readers stop buying comics at thirteen, but our readers didn’t’ — Steve MacManus". I was from a moving Military family and that age was about the time Dad retired and I was able to actually KEEP my comics. I didn't quit at thirteen, I started anew. 
My score ... 5 stars out of 5. It's a must-have.

Biography

David Bishop is an acknowledged Inspector Morse expert, appearing in several documentaries about the character and writing six editions his definitive guide to the Oxford detective. His other non-fiction books include Thrill-Power Overload, an acclaimed history of iconic British science fiction comic 2000AD, which he edited from 1996-2000. He is the author of twenty published novels, and has also written TV dramas and radio plays for BBC. He teaches modules on genre fiction and graphic novels for the innovative MA Creative Writing programme at Edinburgh Napier University in Scotland, and is a member of the Crime Writers' Association and the Society of Authors.
