1967: The Japanese film Frankenstein Conquers the World is released. The film stars Tadao Takashima as a scientist who creates a giant robot from the remains of Frankenstein's monster.
1987: The British television series Star Cops airs its second episode, "Conversations With the Dead." The episode follows the investigation of a murder that may have been committed by a ghost.
1996: The American horror film July 13th is released. The film follows a group of friends who are stalked and murdered by a mysterious figure on the 13th of July.
2003: The American science fiction horror film The Descent is released. The film follows a group of women who go spelunking and become trapped in a cave system inhabited by flesh-eating humanoids.
2013: The American science fiction horror film The Conjuring is released. The film tells the true story of Ed and Lorraine Warren, paranormal investigators who are called to a house that is haunted by a demonic presence.
2018: The American science fiction horror film Annihilation is released. The film follows a group of scientists who enter a mysterious quarantined zone known as "The Shimmer."
2023: Today is the 205th anniversary of the publication of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein; or, the Modern Prometheus.
