As I age, I find myself moving to smaller simpler computing devices. While I still use a windows desktop computer for some gaming, I am using a linux laptop more with each passing day. That being said, my Kindle Fire is becoming my device of choice over my aged and sputtering desktop or laptop.
My desktop is used only for some Guild Wars 2 gaming and, even though I just purchased the End of Dragons installment, my gaming days are drawing to an end. I just don't have the reflexes for MMO gaming anymore. In the next couple of years my computer will die and I'm alright with that. I have basically already transitioned to smaller devices. My lifestyle is changing and the pad and laptop are a much better fit.
I have Alexa built into my Kindle Fire and I will, in time, explore Alexa devices. I really like the idea of having voice commands --- like Star Trek. Of course, it may be nothing my than a toy to entertain visitors but I can imagine home animation helping me as I age.
Alexa --- read me "Do Not Go Gentle into that Good Night".
