Virtual Zombie Walk and Zombie Bowl-O-Rama

Virtual Zombie Walk I hope that everyone is enjoying the virtual zombie walk. I will be out of town on a family trip, but I plan to visit all of these cool blogs. What bugs me about Mara Corday

My blogging buddy Autumnforest at Ghost Hunting Theories ( link ) has written a couple of posts about classic sci fi of the 1950s. Inspired by that lovely blogger/author, I had to pick an equally lovely woman of the sci fi/horror B movies. I choose the giant bug battler Mara Corday ( link ). Her journey from a showgirl to a celebrated actress and model encapsulates the allure of Hollywood’s golden era. Maybe I'm just old, and times like these I feel very old, but what about Janet Leigh – Psycho, Adrienne Barbeau – The Fog, Ingrid Pitt – Countess Dracula (and most of the women of Hammer Films), Sarah Michelle Gellar – The Grudge, Salma Hayek – From Dusk til Dawn, and my all-time favorite Yvonne De Carlo. The film follows Nancy Perkins, a troubled teenage girl who is sent to a strict boarding school to improve her behavior. However, she soon discovers that the school is not what it seems, as her science teacher, Miss Branding, is secretly a vampire who wants to turn Nancy into her next victim. Despite its cheesy special effects and wooden acting, Blood of Dracula is an entertaining and campy film that perfectly captures the spirit of 1950s horror movies.
