  • In 1983, Sally Ride became the first American woman in space aboard the Space Shuttle Challenger. She was also the youngest American astronaut to travel to space at the age of 32. She later became a role model for young girls interested in science and technology.
  • In 1999, The Mummy starring Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz was released in theaters. The film was a remake of the 1932 classic and featured stunning visual effects and action sequences. It spawned two sequels and a spin-off series.
  • In 2004, Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story premiered in cinemas. The comedy film starred Vince VaughnBen StillerChristine Taylor, and Justin Long. It parodied the sports genre and featured cameos from celebrities like Chuck NorrisWilliam Shatner, and David Hasselhoff.
  • In 2010, Toy Story 3 debuted on the big screen. The animated film was the third installment in the Toy Story franchise and featured the voices of Tom HanksTim AllenJoan Cusack, and others. It was a critical and commercial success, becoming the highest-grossing animated film of all time at that point. It also won two Academy Awards for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song.
