My thoughts:
I first saw Christian Day on the paranormal TV show Ghost Adventures. I was not impressed. The robes, skull, candles, and flamboyant gestures really turned me off.
Having read his book, I think that I have a better insight into the Salem Warlock. I understand why he uses the title Warlock and I have a better understanding of the tools used in the episode.
I liked his sense of humor. While discussing ritual cleansing he said, “Far too many people these days don’t shower as much as they should. Remember, your body is a temple, not a garbage scow, For the sake of everyone around you, including the spirits, bathe regularly!” I got a pretty good chuckle from several comments like that one.
Day’s behind-the-scenes story of his Ghost Adventures episode is priceless. “‘Depart from that place and let them discover nothing!’ Yeah, it was catty, but I didn’t want anyone, living or dead, to steal the spotlight from the Witch House.” I wonder what Zak Bagans thinks about that? While I wasn’t a fan at first, I believe this man should have his own show.
If you are interested in the tools and techniques of witchcraft and ghost hunting, this is your resource. I thought that it was excellent. Day’s personality really pushes this book into a long list of “must-haves” from Weiser Books. I give it 5 stars out of 5.
