Sadly, Merlin has cast his last spell. The show will come to an end with the 2-part finale of season 5. While some people found Merlin juvenile, I enjoyed the show. I admit that I would have preferred a darker Merlin, but the show gave me plenty of chuckles.

Johnny Capps and Julian Murphy, the series co-creators and executive producers, issued a statement saying; "This is the series where the storylines truly reach their apex. We always felt the story of the legend was best told across five series, leading to a spectacular finale that draws on the best known elements of this much-loved story and brings to a conclusion the battle for Camelot."
