Master of the World was written by Jules Verne and published in 1904. It was a sequel to Robur the Conqueror and it is a delight to anyone who loves steampunk.
Strange events and sightings occurring throughout the South-eastern states draws the attention of Federal Police Inspector John Strock. Strock's investigation leads him to Robur (Robur the Conqueror) and his amazing vehicle/weapon the "Terror".
While the science may not fit with what we know today, "Master of the World" is a heck of a story. There is a movie version of "Master of the World" (1961) starring none other than Vincent Price and Charles Bronson. The movie strays away from the book but most fans should still enjoy it.
