Oh Linux, Linux, Linux
After fumbling with my Manjaro Linux WiFi connection for a couple of days, I clicked on my browser and to my amazement --- it worked. That's right. I've been connected all along. My WiFi icon shows no signal and when it reads disconnected when clicked, however, I am connected to the WiFi.
What further confused me is that my weather icon didn't work, reading no data. I changed the location to the next city and now the weather works like a charm. Damn. Days of fiddling around for nothing.
So now it looks as though both my Windows system and my Linux system are up and running. Whew!
